Wait and See

Some words and thoughts for now...

-We have been set free - to follow.
I am comforted today as I consider that the LORD is my Shepherd, and I can trust in Him and follow Him without fear.

-Wait and see
I often think of being faithful in the work that I do for the LORD and for my family,
but I was struck by something - be patient in waiting for the LORD, for He is showing me that HE is faithful.  I learn more about who the LORD is as I trust in His character.  He says in the Psalms, "My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him,..." - it's who He is and he wants me to also reflect this character trait each day.
"Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you, bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."  Proverbs 3:3

And this morning my prayer is this,
"Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!" Ps. 90:17

For Ten Years...

... he has given this princess a special invitation this time each year. 

 A beautiful invitation to come away to the Father/Daughter dance.

 And each year she anticipated this special evening; 

 dressing up for her "prince charming" - her daddy. 

I am quite sure that this will always be a special memory for them both!

Moving On While We Wait

Where are we now?  We are in a waiting time.  We have walked through the last few days trying to wrap our thoughts around the changes that are coming our way with this unexpected relocation. Right now, we don't know where or when.  That is almost as hard as the initial news that we would have to move.  

This week has been really hard in others ways ... sicknesses, injured dog, broken oven and dryer. 

But I was so happy to get my camera back yesterday!  

Today was a glorious Colorado day - highs in the 50's.  So I set myself up in the sun, and played with some fiber.  I am experimenting with needle felting a rug ... and I have NO IDEA what I am doing.  But I'm having fun doing it.  

Steve got his birthday gift up and is really going to enjoy it.  So are some other young boys in the home.  

Steve also started building the hutch for our two Angora Rabbits.

We are celebrating two birthdays tomorrow.  And since the oven is broke, we are going to enjoy bought pizza, and ice cream.  To bad -I was craving that wonderful buttermilk chocolate cake.  May be next weekend, just cuz!

Changes...

Here is something that Kalyn wrote last night on face book...

"Life, everyone says that there are trials and we've had our share of heartaches and problems. But there are just some things you never see coming and this is one of those things. Ever wake up on a normal day and by the time it ends everything has changed? This was one of those days for all of us. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated in the next few weeks ahead. And no matter what happens God is in control."


We have just found out that we will need to move.  This is a real heart breaker for us.  We built this house, remodeled it, and well, Steve and I thought that we would raise our family here and grow old here.  I just never thought that I would have to leave my home.


But our Shepherd is leading us some where different now.  
And I remember two songs from my childhood that have help me though many other uncertain and painful time times before...




I will post more as I can.
We would so gratefully appreciate your prayers as we face many decisions in the coming year.  

Babysitting...

 I thought you might like to see our week of feeding the nearby Alpacas.  

 This is NOT an Alpaca though, did you know that?  This is a Llama - ears that look like a banana is the clue, and they are less friendly. 

 Each day we loaded the wagons with hay to feed the hungry little animals.  

 The Alpacas were so happy to see those wagons full of goodness!

 Opps, this one was not very patient and he got his food on his head.

 NOT an Alpaca, and I know that you were not fooled.  This is a beautiful Mohair goat.

 These dogs fiercely protect their flock, but are ridiculously loving with the children.

 Karlie's 1st introduction to Alpacas was a cheek kiss...to cute!

I was so happy that I could take Jace and Karlie to see these sweet animals while they were here.
I feel so blessed by the LORD that my family has had this opportunity to care for these precious animals!  
Know what Alpacas do when they are hungry and letting another Alpaca know that she is not to intrude?  Spit...
yep, pretty yucky.
I was petting a little Alpaca as it was eating when it "sneezed" -
in my face (mouthing open as I was telling it was a pretty little love it was).  Yea...
YUCK,
I'm still not sure if it really sneezed or if it "spit" at me;
probably the later...LOL
Lesson learned - Keep my mouth shut! 

Hi...

How are ya'll?  I really am wanting to start blogging more consistently.  I miss you all.  How can it already be almost February.  Steve and I had our 25th anniversary on January 9th, but due to a beautiful family wedding in Texas (my neice) and over two weeks of sicknesses we still have not "celebrated".  We received enough gift money to stay in a cabin in Estes Park, Colorado.  Hopefully by the end of February we can go.  

Steve turned 50 on the 28th, and the children and I had a wonderful surprise for him.  Jace and Karlie flew in from Fort Worth to surprise him, and boy was he surprised ... there were even a few happy tears.  His family also came down from Denver, so we had a wonderful, fun weekend.

I have been totally obsessed with fibers to spin lately.  Last week the children and I had the joy of taking care of some Alpaca's for a local rancher.  It was really fun, and I "adopted" my first fiber animals - two English Angora Rabbits.  

I can hardly wait to spin me some Angora fiber. 

My camera is broken - sadly it will cost quite a bit to fix it.  One day it was working, and the next - not.  The camera guys say that "this" just happens with these older models. 

Also, the dishwasher is broke.  Boy, do we miss that sucker!  One meal for a family of 14 creates quite a mess. 

Would you please pray for Dandy ... tomorrow morning he will be having surgery to replace his knee.  A whole lot of fun and trying to keep up with Gommy finally wore the thing out.
