How In The World ...

...can it already be the end of July.

We are enjoying our summer time.  Aiden turned 7 this week, which is so hard to believe.

Kalyn got this fun little guy and stuffed him with candy.  Aiden LOVED trying to get it open.

We have two boys from China staying with us for two weeks while they are here for their school.  They are sweet boys and Aiden, Clive and Keshawn are really having fun with these big boys.

Their "American" names are Howard and Shawn.  They do not speak or understand much English, but "Hey, been there, done that" with Noelani and Clive.  The little children are great...they just don't care about the whole language thing, and next thing I know Howard and Shawn are laughing at Aiden for something or other.

Finally, Aiden got that thing to spill out its lovely sugaring bounty....

and everyone enjoyed gathering a bag of the goodies.

Wonder what he is doing in these two pictures?  He is shutting his eyes as hard as he can;

until he hears the shout out to look at his new birthday BIKE.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN, WE LOVE YOU.

Sweet Summer

I'm taking a little blog break to enjoy some sweet summer fun with my precious ones.
We are doing something different, but exciting in a few weeks.  I'll let you know what it is later.
I pray that you are playing, laughing, resting and breathing this summer.  May the LORD bless you each.
loves,
Shonni

"Redneck" Colorado Style

Caresse came up with a great idea when we couldn't find what we wanted for some COLD Colorado Rocky Mountain water fun.
With the absence of any floating tubes, she came up with her own version using the "never to be without" duck tape and some really, REALLY strong trash bags.

We lovingly dubbed this the "trash-tube".

Her daddy said it wouldn't work, but she proved him wrong, and before long he was offering his help to keep the fun afloat.

To say that the water was cold would be an understatement ...
it was ICY; run off fresh from snow; freeze your feet off in a few seconds - COLD.

Kalyn was one of the braver ones, enduring the cold, running into trees, but going further than anyone else.  And she has the bruised knees to show how hard she played.

We camped in such a beautiful place too.

Kiana is demonstrating the "Gosh, this is cold" tip-toe.

Noelani joined in the fun just a little, but not to much, since her hip is still recovering from her cleft palate surgery.

Steve laughingly called our river fun "Redneck Colorado Style", and I think that fits pretty well.
