On My Heart

I haven’t been writing much here in this little sphere known as the “blog world”, or virtual reality - "computer-simulated environment”.
Why?
The obvious would be time, and that is certainly partly true.

Health is another obvious - I haven’t felt very “Up” and lately found out that my thyroid, which was diognosed  14 years ago (Hypothyroidism - or low thyroid) had gone down pretty bad.

Or, I could blame it on the emotional “vortex” of parenting N. and C. right now.  Ugg

I have kind of tossed around whether to continue with blogging, and had to reevaluate the “why’s”.

What I have come back to is the purpose (and my passion) for this little spot;
-I hope and pray to “Declare His Glory among the Nations”,
And
-To encourage others to live the Truth’s found in the Bible, even when those Truths do not always match up with the circumstances.

Secondary would be to encourage, pray for, and support others in their God Given passions for His Glory, and to gratefully enjoy the like-minded friendships that I have found “long distance”.

Right now, I apologize for not following good “blog etiquette”.   I read many of your blogs, but just do not have the time to comment the way I would like.  I do think of you and pray for you.  If you would ever like to contact me for special prayer request, please feel free to email me.

Here is something from Scriptures that the LORD spoke to me this week;
“For it is You who light my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness.  For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.  This God - His way is perfect, the Word of the LORD proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.”  Psalm 18: 28-30
This week I have been crying out to Him for help in mothering Noelani and Clive (all of my children really, but especially these two).  The pain, fear and just plain ol’ bad habits that they have are really hard on Kalyn and me.  Clive does some things that are very controlling and rude towards me especially.  There is definitely a “darkness”...
I felt encouraged when I read the above verse and now pray it as a thanksgiving to the LORD.  I am thankful that He promises to lighten this darkness that these children are in, and that by my God, I will leap over their wall of pain and fear.  No doubt, only praise, because His way IS perfect; it will prove true; He is our shield.  He loves to heal the sick, so I continue to trust Him each day to heal my children’s hearts.
Now do I “feel” this right now?  Not really.  But I must take my present “reality” and make it submit to His Truth.

And now, THANK YOU!!!  THANK YOU for reading this blog, for praying for our family, for being a friend to me.  I am grateful to share my heart with you here, and pray that we would all encourage each other through the good and the bad to look to HIM always, and to sing praises to the ONE who lights our lamps.  May we SHINE for Him.

This Was Fun!

It was so amazingly fun to watch these beautiful animals in their natural home.  We flew into this national park in Alaska where the brown bears where catching Salmon as they swam up the river.  It was so beautiful in this area.  Those birds that you see in the pictures...there were thousands of them around the bears.  They would pick at the fish after the bears where finished.  Kinda crazy.

The BIG Post from Alaska - Finally

Well, weeks ago I promised to show you one of the biggest things that we saw in Alaska.   Is the tail a dead give away?  Yep, we were blessed to see a hump back whale!  The pictures do no justice to the “WOW” factor of seeing this amazing animal in it normal home.
But that wasn’t THE biggest.
Before, I get to the biggest though, I will show you some runner ups.  Here is the biggest fish I had ever caught (till a few days later) ... my 1st ever Halibut.

This was by far the largest star fish I have ever seen; caught in the crab pots.
You got to have BIG crabs too.

And here is a very big catch of Halibut and Silver Salmon.

Yep, my foot next to a BIG fish.

And then we saw several Killer Whales...

...and one of them swam this close to our boat and then swam right under our boat.  WOW!!  Big excitement!

Of course, we saw the BIG brown bears of Alaska.  That was cool.  (More later on them)

And, you might not know this, but I love my husband, BIG TIME.

There was more BIG beauty than I have ever seen!!

And then there is my little brother and my true sister (in-law)...gosh, I love them BIG!

YET, the biggest thing that I saw all week was by far the love that my parents have for each other and for their family.

And, though I don’t have to go to Alaska to see it, I will ALWAYS be grateful to them for taking us on this trip of a life time...
a trip that I will never forget.  The land of Alaska was truly beautiful and amazing beyond words;
but it was most special of all because of the people I shared the memories with.

Where?

(My cute little brother - Kim)

I know that I said I would be right back, and some of you have been wondering “Where did she go?”
Well, after returning home from Alaska, we immediately began our new school year and instead of being able to blog the way I wanted to, I have been immersed in finding the new “normal” around here.
I haven’t forgotten about the BIG thing that we saw in Alaska that I was going to show you.
It just takes time around here for me to get to things.  So, keep an eye out cuz I will be returning to more consistent blogging (I hope), soon!
Loves to you all and praying for a wonderful new school year for your families.

Alaska - AMAZING

Alaska - WOW!  I couldn’t believe that we were going to Alaska.  My parents blessed us and Kim and Karla when they asked us to come play with them in Alaska.  This has always been on my “bucket” list of top five places that I really wanted to see.
We took a boat ride from Kodiak to our home for the week, Raspberry Island Wilderness Lodge.

And I do mean wilderness!  I felt like I was in heaven.  No roads, no cars, no stores or other houses.

Just beautiful, wild and rugged Alaskan beaches!
See the cross in the rock?  Love it.

The next morning we got up early and headed out to a river for some Salmon fishing.  Aren’t these pictures AMAZING?

It was so fun seeing the sea otters playing as we drove by.  They would just look at us as we passed.

And look at these huge hooks that we would use later to deep sea fish for Halibut.

You know one of the funnest things?  Just being together, laughing, playing, helping each other.
Of course, it was pretty darn fun pulling huge ol’ Salmon up on the beach for the first time, getting tired as I pulled up my first Halibut from over 350 feet, and checking the crab pots.
There’s more I want to share, but I have to run now.  But until then, guess what we saw the next day?  (Think BIG).

Do You Have Meat?

Aiden said to Daddy tonight in the bathtub, “Daddy, I can see my meat.”
LOL
Steve said, “Son, those are called muscles.”
