"Redneck" Colorado Style

Caresse came up with a great idea when we couldn't find what we wanted for some COLD Colorado Rocky Mountain water fun.
With the absence of any floating tubes, she came up with her own version using the "never to be without" duck tape and some really, REALLY strong trash bags.

We lovingly dubbed this the "trash-tube".

Her daddy said it wouldn't work, but she proved him wrong, and before long he was offering his help to keep the fun afloat.

To say that the water was cold would be an understatement ...
it was ICY; run off fresh from snow; freeze your feet off in a few seconds - COLD.

Kalyn was one of the braver ones, enduring the cold, running into trees, but going further than anyone else.  And she has the bruised knees to show how hard she played.

We camped in such a beautiful place too.

Kiana is demonstrating the "Gosh, this is cold" tip-toe.

Noelani joined in the fun just a little, but not to much, since her hip is still recovering from her cleft palate surgery.

Steve laughingly called our river fun "Redneck Colorado Style", and I think that fits pretty well.

  2. Jim would say, "What a Smartie Girl." But, he would also be the first to say "That won't work." Are ya'll still coming in July? I will have the boys the week of July 22-26 for Vacation Bible School. I plan to take them to the lake or slab every afternoon. We are also going to bring the canoe over and hope to find a permanent spot for it so everyone can have access to it. I think the kids would really enjoy it.
