Our Time

First, thank you all so much for your precious words on this post (Pregnant!)...I really am grateful for your friendships to share the journey's of this life with. There were even two comments from fathers and one comment from a grandmother. Thank you again, for your support! Counting down till Monday....
Kalyn and I had a wonderful time together...and Steve had a great time with the others here at home!
Wouldn't you know, the first morning I was awakened by dozens of babies crying LOUDLY! at 6:30 a.m.
I kept trying to ignore the noise, wishing it were a dream, when my curiosity finally got the better of me. Looking out the window, I saw dozens of mother deer who had come to the river by our cabin with their babies. I don't know why those babies were fussing so much, but they were! One especially pathetic cry came from a crippled baby who was trying to hop behind mama on three legs.

Our first night we enjoyed Kalyn's special requested meal...daddy's steak (special secret and all!!!), and wonderful salad.

It was to cold to really hike, so we did 4 wheel to some beautiful places. Kalyn thought it would be fun to get a fire going to have our picnic by. It was hard work because it was so winding, but we finally got one going.

I fell in love with a fun little lake that is being rearranged by beavers.

We were coming down a 4 wheel rode, when all of a sudden I saw something black off to the right, so I backed up and hesitantly got out of the Bronco, because by now I was pretty sure it was fake....but no, I was NOT going to trespass! (Not that I usually do....)

Of course, this was one of the reasons we went to this area of the Rocky Mountains...

And what could be nicer than this pretty dessert to celebrate my sweet 16 year old.

Pregnant!

fall tree
I know, that got your attention, didn't it...and it isn't really fair for me to title such a startling word as "Pregnant"...
but I find myself "feeling" 8 months pregnant-EMOTIONALLY.
This doesn't seem to be something discussed much in blog world and besides my mother and husband, I haven't really talked about my feelings...
In an adoption pregnancy, there are different feelings than a birth pregnancy.
When I was full pregnant with Caresse, I was so afraid of labor...and the pregnancy had already been SO DIFFICULT; I was just emotionally wore out. And wouldn't you know my little angel decided to present posterior (face up), which made birth difficult. When she was born all I would say was "It's a baby, it's a baby!" Steve finally laughed and said "yes, it's a baby, but is it a girl or a boy!?".
In this adoption pregnancy, I have found myself wanting...needing the nurturing that often comes to pregnant mama's. You know, when you're asked constantly when the baby is due, or someone pats your tummy and tells you how beautiful you are; it seems the world is "there" with you as you get ready to birth this child.
However, being adoption pregnant can be a little lonely. I feel dumb because I want to show my picture of our son to everyone and want to tell anyone who will listen about him. I'm dreaming about him and want to go buy cute boy clothes. I'm counting the days till the 19th. And I'm scared!!! We have lost babies before and it hurts!
I'm not comparing to pregnancy losses, I have experienced a miscarriage and it was heartbreaking. And for families who babies have died...oh, how sorry I am.
So, here I am...feeling full adoption pregnant, scared, scattered, emotional and I can't stop thinking about him!!!
I wanted to share this, because I am finding it hard to blog about anything. I just find my mind a little distracted! I will still be blogging, but I might sound "emotional" and I hope you will understand why.

Kalyn and I are going to the mountains tomorrow for a few days. For her 16th birthday gift she really just wanted a special time in the mountains. I wish we could all go, but we can't. So Steve will be home with our family while Kalyn and I are gone. It is VERY COLD here, so we may be spending alot of time in our cabin...however, that sounds delightful also...a cabin in Colorado...a hot tub...fire place...
I know, I wish you could come with us too!!!

and sibling lips....
I'm thankful for all the precious lips around here that fill my mommy heart each day with kisses, and love.
And I'm grateful that it is nap time, cuz all those lips make a lot of noise and it is time for a little quiet.

You must go read this and share with your friends...so many people are being hurt because of fear and a lack of truth!

Herbal Butter- By Caresse

Yesterday for school we watched a herb DVD called "HOMESTEAD BLESSINGS' THE ART OF HERBS". They had some of the coolest things you could make with herbs. We decided to make some herbal butter. Here is what you need: Parsley, Oregano, Thyme, Sage and Unsalted Butter. You can buy fresh herbs in the cold part of the fruit and veggie section or at a natural food store.
Your butter needs to be soft not melted soft, but soft. We just let it sit in the sun until it got soft. Chop or cut your herbs up very small! Don't use stems in this. When your butter is soft stir it up a little and add a few tablespoons of your chopped herbs.
You can use dried herbs, but fresh herbs are better for this. Stir it all together and put it in a clean glass jar. Put lid on tightly and put in fridge over night. Spread on bread the next day and enjoy!!!!!
Parsley.
You can also put some salt or garlic salt in the butter for flavor.

Thoughts and Fruit

I love capturing the little moments between my children. Corbin loves to have someone read to him.
The last few weeks have been so busy! This weekend I was up in the mountains for a church retreat. It was nice, but I am ready to settle things down around here.
I find my mind constantly thinking now about our little one in Ethiopia...it feels familiar to the end of a pregnancy...waiting and praying and a little anxious.

I began to think about fruit (I know, I tend to jump to subjects-LOL). I read in Prov. 11:30 "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise."
I was thinking how fruit really isn't for the "tree", but to nourish others. Then I looked at my Bible notes and read this..."The life of the righteous leads not only to blessing for themselves but also provides fruit that "captures souls" in the sense of leading people out of the path that ends in death."
Also the fruits of the Spirit...yes, I am blessed by them, however, do I desire them for me? or to give to others. So do I GIVE love, joy, and peace to those around me? Do I give patience, kindness, goodness, or faithfulness to others to nurture their lives? How about gentleness or self-control? I haven't always thought of it like this.
I can't produce good fruit on my own (believe me, I have tried and failed at it). But I believe that unintentionally, without thinking about it, and believing that I had good motives...I was really trying to produce good fruit for me. The tree doesn't "eat" it's fruit...it is given to another. I want my fruit to "capture" others and bring them to the Lover of their souls.
So, just some thoughts in my head...
