What I Am Praying For And Working On!

"A gentle and quiet spirit is not only imperishable; it is precious in the sight of God. It's also one of the hardest qualities to cultivate. Far from a sign of weakness, a gentle and quiet spirit is the sign of a woman who is strong in faith, mind and character." --Anna Sofia & Elizabeth Botkin

  1. When we were asked at church for what we *personally* would like to request for prayer (2 weeks ago), this is exactly what I answered. I so need the Lord here, but I know He is faithful and that I am His workmanship. Thanks for sharing!

  2. This is very hard for me....and I have recently really sensed that I need a lot of work in this area. Praying for more gentleness.....in my life.

  3. This was very good for me to read. I'm struggling with some situations involving my children lately that seem so unfair, & I'm all about "justice". It's hard b/c every fiber of my being wants to be Mama Bear & get loud. I think we need to stand for our children, but this is a good reminder that I need to find a good balance & seek His face in this.

  4. I love this Shonni - praying it for you and all of us parents! Especially us mom's who homeschool and rarely are without our children in tow.

    Love you!

  5. Ah, yes. I just finished a study by Elizabeth George on 1 Peter: Putting on a Gentle and Quiet Spirit. Very good, and something I need to consciously do EVERY day!

  6. I think being born a Texan makes that even more of a challenge :). I'm with you, though. Praying for it, that is...
