From Kalyn, Guatemala 2013!

Hi everyone! This year I am so blessed to be going back to Guatemala, and this year a very special someone is coming with me. Can you guess? My Mom! I am so excited for her to be able to come with me and see this wonderful country and meet these amazing people I have gotten to know the last 2 years. Every year has been so awesome and God has shown up every year and every year the team is so great and work together so well. This team that goes really is like a family (mainly because it is my family J ). My grandparents lead the trip for their church every year and have been going for the last 6 years. My aunt and uncle have also been going for two to three years, and we were joined by another aunt and uncle of mine last year. A good friend of the family who is an eye doctor has been going with my grandparents for several years. And every year it is so excited to see the old and the new and how God brings everyone together. I am so eager for my mom to be going with us this year, it is going to be incredible!

We will be running an Eye clinic, a Medical clinic and a construction team. The people there are wonderful and it is really fun to go to all the different villages and see all these new and beautiful places.

But the most important thing for me is that I want to be a servant. The adventure is fun and it is all so exciting but that is not why I go. Every year I pray God give me a servant’s heart because you have blessed me greatly and I cannot give of money or material things but I can give of my time and energy and most importantly of my love. And that is the goal set we all have when we go to Guatemala God make us servants to serve in anything and everything that You give us to do.
