The LORD Reminded Me...
“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good."
I often think when I am reading the Bible, how I can apply it to being a mother, or other areas of my days. When I read the above verse this morning I thought how many times my eyes see the “evil” or the bad that the children do, but I needed to be reminded to see the “good” more often.
It is so easy for me to unintentionally just “notice” the bad and sinful behaviors. I stop noticing the good that they do, and showing them my appreciation for it. A good reminder today to intentionally be sure that “my eyes” are also seeing the good.
We are praying for an appointment today...Steve and I are driving to Denver to have an “intake” appointment with an Occupational Therapist for Aiden. Praying for the LORD’s direction and wisdom!!!! Goodness, do I need some here.

The Lord has been opening my eyes lately to the same lesson. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJust prayed for little Aiden. And thank you for the reminder of seeing the good. I read a book one time called The Power of a Positive Mom or something like that and it said how people tend to remember the negative things said so much more than the positive. I need to praise my kids more. They are such a blessing to me. Thank you for the encouragement!

soo true-- i can so quickly point out their faults- but am slow to point out their good points:( thanks for the reminder!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that verse and needed that today. Too easy to settle for seeing the bad and negative behaviors instead of focusing on the good and positive. Thanks, Shonni, for the wisdom.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shonni for that great reminder to watch for the good too! Praying your appointment goes well.

Que dia más divertido!¡
ReplyDeleteSo, so true for all of us.
ReplyDeletePraying your OT appointment goes well. It was helpful for our son.
Another thing that has helped so very much that I can't help but say something, because I really wished I had known sooner was the "Biology of Behavior" CD and supplements from Dianne Craft. I would highly recommend them:)

Just thought of this today, too.
ReplyDeleteKind words and support go a long way. Criticism and negative words can hurt and erase the good words we say. I need to focus on the positive and point out what my children are doing right!
Great post!
