We have our consulate appointment December 13th. So we will be leaving the 1st week of December!
I am BEGGING you other adoptive parents who have traveled to China to share advice, tips and good places to visit with me!!!
YEA!!!!!!!!!!
Praise the LORD!!!!!!!!
Oh I am so excited that you finally have your travel dates!! And how more perfect could they be...time to spend at home with family for Thanksgiving and yet enough time home prior to Christmas not to feel so rushed!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lot to be thankful for!!!
happy dance! happy dance!!!! Yahoo!!!!!!! praying for y'all!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou made my day! That's the best news - congratulations! Can't wait to follow along.
ReplyDeleteHave you found someone to help Kalyn with the kids? (I so wish I could just jump on a plane and help, but I am working seasonal at the bookstore, since Jim is unemployed. Seriously, if I wasn't working I would be there in a heartbeat to help out.) Will Steve be able to travel with you? How long do you expect to be gone?
ReplyDeletePraying with you for ALL of the crazy details that you must pull together in the next few weeks.
Rejoicing with you that you get to go hold your "babies" in your arms. (By the way ... LOVED the pic of you and Steve chatting with the kids on Skype. You are both GLOWING!)
Hugs to you and the family!
Laurel :)
So happy for you guys!

WOO-HOO!!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember when we got that news! ( and now waiting to hear it again)
Our daughter is from Nanning, which is southern China. I told my husband, since the cahnces of us ever coming back are slim, let's do Beijing, too! So we left earlier and did the Beijing things. Great Wall, Summer Place, The Nest, ect. SO glad we did, even if it was January and freezing as we climbed the Wall.
OH HOW EXCITING!! We will be praying for your journey.
In which provinces will you be staying? In GZ, off the island, there are two very nice parks...great for burning off energy! We haven't been to the zoo there, but heard it's quite nice. Yeah...they'll be home for Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteYEAH!!!!! YIPEE!!!!!! So excited for you guys!! See as much of China as you can!!! Stray a bit off the beaten path!!! Exciting!!!
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord!!!!
ReplyDeleteHooray!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat news to read tonight!!! Time will fly by and before you know it, you'll be sitting on that airplane heading to China!!! :)

Oh my goodness! That is the best news! And home as a family by Christmas, what could be better!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you! PTL!
ReplyDeleteYayayayay!! Yay God!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you!!
We are hoping to leave 11/28 , which would mean we would be in GZ together! BUT it may not happen we are still waiting for our TA- waiting is so hard!
Bring a beach ball and bubbles no matter how old they are! Then a notebook and writing utensils! I brought an ipod nano with chinese music, nursery songs and christian childrens songs on it!- a back pack for each- a little candy and a little toy. Maybe if you have a leapfrog expolorer or nintendo ds bring that! (small handheld game). As far as how to pack you can check my blog- I just asked that question!
I so so hope we meet in China!
¡Felicidades por esta noticia!
ReplyDeleteShonni, this is wonderful amazing fantastic glorious news!!! So exciting!
ReplyDeleteWill you be going alone? The Safari Park in Guangzhou is very fun (would be for N and C as well) even though it is an extra expense. All of my boys loved it. Also, if you like your creature comforts as far as snacks, I would bring some from the U.S. I wish we had brought more food from home. Even though there are markets in many places, sometimes it is a long walk, and also super crowded (I have this thing about crowds). If you want more internet access in China, get a VPN card in the states before you go. Most importantly, have a wonderful time, have fun, and meet and love on those two beautiful beautiful children - and keep us updated. We will be praying for you!!! Love,Chenning
Rejoicing with you! What a special Christmas it will be to have your newest blessings home!
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,
Kathie
Dear Shonni,
ReplyDeleteI've never reacted, but I have been praying for you and for this day! hallelujah!
Love, Josee - Holland
Hi Shonni,
ReplyDeleteGet a coin purse and put a little yuan in it - kids love having their own money! I loved the Safari Park as well, and we are going to climb the Guangzhou TV tower this time as it was under construction when we were there. It will have a GREAT view! We're loading all kinds of educational apps on the iPad: iWrite, Math Bingo, Doodle Buddy - and of course Dora the Explorer in Chinese. :) Try and take a drive out to the country areas if you can. Can't wait to follow along - we're right behind you! Blessings, Kim
SOOOO HAPPY to hear this!!! I have been checking every day and praying.
ReplyDeleteHooray!!!!!! So happy and excited for you!!! The long-awaited days are here at last. :-)
ReplyDeleteDid you receive my looooong e-mail answer to your advice question the other day?
We're struggling here with our newest child (age 14) and are needing prayers.
Blessings!
