What Do You Think?

IMG_3076
I have always loved the pretty colored play silks that I have seen in children's toy magazines, however, they are VERY expensive, so I have never bought any. Recently, I found this silk dying project at another blog and decided to give it a try.

Here are the children with their hand dyed playsilks.

They LOVE them!

The two below I dyed in professional dye...such beautiful and vibrant colors. I'm going to try to dye a silk today with a variation of these two colors...we'll see what happens.

So, here is my question to you...do you think I would be able to sell some of these to raise funds to bring Keshawn home?
What do you think?

  3. Very cute!

    Questions for you:

Where do you buy the plain silks?
What all do the kids use them for?

I, too, saw the instructions on the other blog, but really had no idea what the children DO with them.

  5. I have been meaning to make these at my house, but I would be willing to buy them for a great cause!

I wish there was a great networker out there who would do a site where all of adopting parents who are raising funds in various ways to go to support each other. If we bought our Christmas gifts off of this site it would be an awesome 2 for 1...who needs to support Walmart when there are so many children who need to come home!

  10. Shonni - my kids LOVE these and you are right they are very expensive to buy! Your group did a great job!

I would buy them from you - tri colors are the biggest hit here - then solid red and blue. Girls like solid pink. Or a soft tie dye effect of pink.

They are great for everything - blankets for babies, hats, pretending they are old bible characters, Kings, Queens, Peasants, you name it and they can find a creative way to play with these.

    Love and hugs,
    Jill
