"Father God, please show me how to use Scripture, which I confess and believe is breathed out by God and profitable, to teach, reprove, correct, and train my children in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16) to equip my children for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ." (Eph. 4:12)
I am feeling frustrated with some parenting issues right now...especially with the littlest ones. It seems that they are almost constantly in trouble, tattle tailing, disobeying, arguing and of course predictably being "childish". I am determined (as I wrote about earlier), to find the answers not from books, but from God, through prayer and the Bible. I do feel like I am rediscovering some TRUTHS and being encouraged with different Scriptures and know that I need His wisdom and help and know that he will send that...HOWEVER, after correcting these little darlin's for HOURS on end (hours x four children, not to mention the others and house work=?)...I begin to wonder what I need to change or do different; how to Biblically handle some of the heart issues and not "grow weary" in doing this precious job of mothering.
Just wanted to share my heart a little...
Aww sorry you had a difficult day. You and your husband are amazing for how much love you have shared with your children and I am sure God will show you the way.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you shared - I was feeling like I was the only one that felt this way!
ReplyDeleteI will pray for you too!
Put the "darlin's" to bed and take a nice bubble bath!
I just did! :)
Oh friend--you are so not alone. Whoever said parenting God's way would be a walk in the park? It is hard and tiring. But, I know that the rewards so outweigh the challenges. Keep persevering, sweet friend. Someday you will see the fruit of your labor--you will!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your heart with all of us. You are such a blessing.
Love and blessings from up here in the mountains. I am so ready for Spring :)
Thank you so much for sharing. I totally understand!!!!! I cling to this verse often,
ReplyDeleteHe will tend his flock like a shepherd;
he will gather the lambs in his arms;
he will carry them in his bosom,
and gently lead those that are with young.
Isaiah 40:11
love you, sister!
May His grace, wisdom, and discernment guide us with each passing breath!!!
I stopped by because of I heart faces (your entry is lovely btw) and just wanted to say - I totally understand!
ReplyDeleteInstructions... I always wondered why they didn't come with instructions... until I realized it is all in His Word. Sometimes I think we have days like these to take us there and to find Peace... knowing that the Word is our answer and Peace to all things. Your there... they just aren't there quite yet... but you are setting a great example by praying, searching and reading... they get there eventually. Oh... and there is always nap time or in their rooms for individual quiet time :c)
