Grateful/Thankful Thursday

Linny wrote a beautiful post on being thankful and grateful. She wrote "be content before any gifts are given; breathing "thank you" regardless of what the circumstances; saying "hallelujah" with no guarantee of a blessing; being confident to accept whatever God brings.....Gratefulness is our hearts before the blessing."

For me, part of being grateful is to REMEMBER...
Psalm 143:5 says "I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands."
I read Psalm 145:10 this morning..."All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you!"... and I thought of this plant that I saw yesterday, just beginning to show new life. And I thought how All His Works give thanks to Him...why? Because his works are full of life, truth, beauty...and we, his people, bless Him!!! Its about Who He is...and meditating on that alone makes me feel grateful, regardless of What I am going through.
I am grateful to live today to bless His name and see the work of His hands around me.
A few of those "works" are being naughty, so I am gratefully going to put them down for nap!
Visit Linny if you can and read her grateful notes.

  1. I am reading through your blog post and come to the part of the "naughty works"- hold it I don't remember anything like that in the bible, I had to reread a couple times and then giggle- praise our sweet lord for those "naughty works" and for naptime!!

    Beautiful post!
    Blessings,
    Jean

  2. LOL, those works that choose to be naughty... I bet God is giggling at them too. Praise God for those naptimes!

In Katy, Texas we are already green (yay) and all of my Mom's beautiful lilies are in full bloom. It's amazing that I don't really have to do anything to them and they keep coming up, every Spring. God has been watering them, giving them sunshine and they are beautiful. He reminds me everyday where my Mom is now, she is with Him... and I bet she is tending His gardens for Him in Heaven, because she loved it so here on Earth. His works are indeed mighty!
