Bring them Near
I am studying some scriptures right now, especially asking the LORD for wisdom in mothering my children. They each are so different and their needs for love and training are also different. At times I feel so unable about my ability and lost about the "hows". Should have known that this was the best place to be, and should have got on my knees much sooner. It is so common for me to look to books and other people WHILE I'm reading the Bible also. I think that I am afraid I may not find "the answer" in the Bible or may be I want be able to do it! So, for now, away with how-to books, and other things that might distract me...I'm taking my questions to Him alone and searching the Bible.
In Ephesians 2:13 it says, "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ." I love that Paul was talking to Gentiles who have been adopted into the family of God. As I was thinking on this I felt that for some of the heart issues I am seeing in a few of my children the answer is to do as Christ did for me, and bring them near...bring them into my lap more, hold, caress, love, look into their eyes. This isn't easy in such a busy household, however, I am praying for help to do this!!!

I, too, forget that we HAVE been given the ultimate how-to book! I guess we should learn to look no further. Right there with you, friend.
ReplyDeleteIve only got four children, yet I find it incredibly difficult to meet every need. I too spend an abundent amount of time in books and online seeking out answers to why my kids do this or that, or how to best raise their 'personality'. Time to focus on the Greatest Book Ever Written!! Im with ya!

KT, May the LORD gives us each the wisdom to mother our children, to meet their needs and to lead them in living the adventure that He had for each of us!
