Thankful Thursday

Psalm 118:1 says "Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good: for his steadfast love endures forever!"
Sometimes (good, happy times) it is easy to thank the LORD for his goodness, at other times (hard, emotional times) it is not as easy ... yet many times in the Bible we are told to remember, to give thanks. I really notice a shift in my faith, emotions and attitudes as I practice thankfulness...so Linny, again thank you for encouraging us in this holy practice!
I am thankful this week...
-for beautiful ice sculptures in my trees,
-that Kalyn and I are on the Uganda team,
-for snow fun that we have enjoyed this week,

-for beauty even in a rooster's brillant colors,

-for my sweet man
-for four young children under four (this is a confession as well..."be thankful Shonni, as they interrupt and yell for the 1,000,000th time, that they are healthy and well, there are nap times (LOL),
-did I mention that I am thankful for nap times
-for Kalyn and Caresse, Kiana and Landon, who clean the lunch up so I can have my computor time
-changing of the clothes for a new season mostly done
-that three children get to participate in the Easter weekend.
Thank you for visiting and be sure to drop by A Place Called Simplicity for more thankful encouragement.

  2. I remember a LOOOONNNNGGGG time ago being thankful for my girls' naptime... then I got a breather or had time to get things done. Now I miss nap time... seems like I need one most of the time (geesh I AM getting old). I agree with how being thankful always changes the attitude... and I mean ALWAYS! Just thanking God that this is HIS day and I am thankful to be His servant in it. I love your four under four... they are so precious! Still have the visual of litte Aiden sticking his hand out to us and introducing himself, "HI! I Aiden!!" My daughters and their friend STILL talk about the Hassoldt family and how much they loved being there!
Now... what is the Uganda team? Is there a post that I missed somewhere? I have been so busy the past two weeks, have hardly had any PRODUCTIVE time on the computer (that includes your blogs... cuz I love them so!) All my time has been for other organizations or schools... not for me :c( Today, I am taking me time!

  3. I hadn't realized that you are from the same area that my mom and brother live! Next time I get up there I will be looking you up! :) Not sure if we will make it "home" this summer, as two kids are going on a mission trip to Guatemala.
(I should have known by all your beautiful photos that you lived there! We miss the mountains! )
I hope you don't mind - when I get some quiet time I need to study your blog. We are feeling led to adopt from Uganda soon!

    Agree - thankful for naps!!!

  4. Hi,
Thanks for your comment on my blog!

I love, love, love the name of your blog. You have such a beautiful family. I hope someday we have a big colorful family too.

Your photography is just beautiful. I love the picture of the ice on the tree.

I am also very, very thankful for nap time having two 3 year olds.

I am so excited for you that you are going on the Uganda trip. I wish I could be going but it's just not the right time yet. If Martha is still there please give her a big hug for me. We prayed about adopting her but we knew it wasn't God's timing yet.

    Have a wonderful day!
