Know What I Heard?

Oh My Gosh, to be so in LOVE with someone you can't hold yet! I am dying to show you pictures of our sweet Keshawn, but I want to be respective of country rules. However, do those hands and lips not make you drool with mother love?!!!
And we found out that our COURT DATE is October 19th.
We were REALLY needing a little money (OK, a few thousand) to keep up with the next cost of this adoption and we had not raised it so far, however my husband is a firm believer that the LORD said to bring "em home" and so we stepped out in faith.
We have just enjoyed an amazing family time in the mountains and Steve was talking about how we have to raise a certain amount of money within the next 7 days.
We have felt challenged by a blog friend (I will give details later, because I have to get to bed), and decided this weekend that we were going to make a major change in our diet for the next four weeks to raise money for another family's adoption.
So, we have been in the mountains for the last few days (I can't wait to show you pictures!!!), and guess what was in the mail............................

You probably guessed.....money to help bring Keshawn home!!!!
And I'm going to brag (because it is my blog space...)
but first, we have had several friends, old and new, who helped us bring our children home and I am always so thank for that....
but the cool thing is...
my parents kept asking us if we were OK financially for this adoption (I know I am blessed, because my parents are amazing....)
and I kept saying that we were fine...
it really is up to the LORD to make this work.
However, within the next 7 days we needed several thousand to pay our agency, and we didn't have it.
And over the last few days, Steve and I have make a commitment to change our evening meals for 4 weeks to raise money to "pass it on" for another adoptive family.
So what was in the mail?
Just what we needed to pay what we have to pay for now...
and do you know who helped us? I know I am so blessed... my parents.
BUT THE REAL BEAUTY IS ... because they have helped us, we can help each of you. It may only be $40.00 here and there, but we so much want to help other families that are working through the cost of adoptions to bring their little ones home.
MOM AND DAD, THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE, YOUR SUPPORT AND YOUR UNFAILING DEVOTION TO OUR FAMILY, EVEN WHEN IT DIDN'T ALWAYS MAKE SENSE, YOU KNEW THAT A CHILD IS ALWAYS "WORTH IT".
THANK YOU FROM OUR HEARTS AND FROM THE HEARTS OF SO MANY LITTLE ONES THAT NEVER HAD A "GOMMY OR DANDY"! I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!

  1. Oh how beautiful. Congratulation on your beautiful son and beautiful story.

We are on that complete walk of faith. Relying only on HIM and His provision to make our adoption happen. It is already becoming a beautiful journey and we are only a few weeks into it.

  5. I love Amy's heart and idea!

I love that you will now pass it on too!

I love how God's checkbook never matches ours and that when we turn ours over to Him and give it all to Him - His then takes over TENFOLD!

Trust in the LORD with all of your heart, mind and body - lean NOT on your own understanding and in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths! Prov. 3:5-8

Oh how precious are those lips and hands. Trusting with you for every dollar needed to bring your son home!!!

    Hugs and much love,
    Jill

  6. What an amazing story of faith. This just proves that if you have faith in Him, anything is possible. We too took a huge leap of faith and are waiting, hoping, and praying that He will provide. We are currently in the process of a raffle just to come up with the money to get our dossier to China. I have been completely amazed that in just a few days, we have met our immediate goal. I am already trying to come up with ways to make the rest of the several thousand we will need in a few short months.
I know we will, and I have been completely amazed at the outpouring of support from the blog community. Unlike you, we don't have much support or understanding from our family. They just don't "get it."

Oh, and his lips are to die for

    Blessings,
    Mandi

  11. I am thrilled that you have a court date. And what you shared of Keshawn is just adorable! It is so awesome to hear how God provided for you to bring him home - but of course He would, because you are bringing Keshawn home to his family, and you are trusting Him to help you do it! To God be the glory!

Bless your parents! I love it when those who don't adopt obey God's call to care for the orphan by helping those who do. (And look at the adorable grandbaby they get out of the deal!)

  12. Yay God! He is so faithful! Congrats on the court date....the countdown is on - you should put a little ticker on the side so we can watch the count down to those sweet kissable lips!! I was laughing at your drooling comment - I totally get it!;)

This "faith walk" with the finances is just a crazy wild ride, hu? I feel like He is walking in front of me saying "Come on, trust me! Trust me!"

Thank you for sharing this this morning!

  13. IN TEARS and praising God for His faithfulness IN EVERY ADOPTION. And to your AWESOME parents- I know you didn't do it for the recognition- I know you did it because you LOVE your child and you love God. And because of that- you have taught your daughter how to love in such a BIG way. Thank you. May every child have parents like YOU. GOD BLESS YOU. Amy

  16. That is AWESOME, Shonni! GREAT news! I don't know why I am constantly surprised when I hear or experience God's perfect timing - He must be laughing His head off half the time at us! Either that or tearing His hair out! I would love to hear what/how you are changing your diet to help another family. Share when you can, ok? Oh - your new sweetie is adorable - what I could see, of course!

  17. I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago. I dont even know if I have comment yet or if I am just a lurker. Anywho... I am overwhelmed with gratitude. See 18 months ago we adopted our sweet boy Noah. And just 7 weeks ago our Zion was born. We have 3 bio kids the Lord entrusted my husband and I with also. It is wonderful to see families like ours out there. So deeply in love and humbled to the core when Our Heavenly Father sees our need and helps provide a solution.
